So let’s face it, managing compliance sucks. It’s complicated, it’s so hard to keep organized, and it requires a ton of expertise in order to survive the entire process. Welcome to Compliance Unfiltered, a podcast dedicated to making compliance suck less.
Now, here’s your host, Todd Coshow with Adam Goslin.
Well, welcome in to another edition of Compliance Unfiltered. I’m Todd Coshow alongside the straw that stirs your compliance drink. Mr. Adam Goslin, how the heck are you, sir?
I am doing good today, Todd. How about you?
I can’t complain, man. There’s something in the air. I don’t know if it’s that crispiness, or if it’s college football, or if, in fact, it’s the fact that we’re right around the corner from the 2024 PCI North American community meeting.
Man, I am excited. We’ve been going to the PCI community meetings for many years. Why don’t you share with the listeners, Adam, some of the high -level details of the upcoming community meeting? Yep, so for listeners that aren’t attending the community meeting, they’re going to be missing out on probably one of the biggest events in compliance management, certainly for PCI, that’s going to happen all year long. The annual conference is going to be September 10th through 12th. It’s going to be in Boston at the Heinz Convention Center, and TCT is definitely going to be there. For those that haven’t been before, the community meeting, it’s a three -day event.
There’s all sorts of connections to be made, discoveries to be had, updates from the county. they’ve got you know kind of different you know regional and national community speakers there’s merchants industry experts and more so it’s really for anybody in the PCI space it’s a it’s a must attend event you know for those that are related to PCI and it doesn’t really matter it doesn’t matter if you’re a QSA doesn’t matter if you’re an organization subject to compliance you know or a vendor supplying things to those compliant organizations there’s, there’s really something, something there for everybody absolutely what should listeners expect from the meeting well the the folks that are attending they can expect to hear you know the latest and greatest PCI updates upcoming changes they also tend to cover you know just important trends and cyber security and in the payment card industry overall You know,
certainly one of the biggest buzzwords for the last 18 months or so and probably will be a hot topic as well as the advancements and implications of AI will come into play. TCT will be, I love our play on AI, will be highlighting our automated intelligence instead of artificial. But, automated intelligence capabilities, but the conference is a pretty full agenda for the three days. On Tuesday, they’ve got an assessor session and then the vendor showcase, that’s the floor where they’ve got all of the various vendors that are going to be there. That will open up in the afternoon as well. All the registration and whatnot kicks off, you know, kicks off on Tuesday as well. And, of course, you’ll be able to find at the vendor showcase, you’ll be able to find TCT’s booth.
They’ve got a welcome reception for all of the conference attendees, that’s on, that’ll be on Tuesday evening. And then Wednesday and Thursday, those days are kind of packed with, you know, really important and quality educational sessions.
There’s, you know, there’s something really for everybody, you know, that attends. We were talking earlier about it being for, you know, QSAs or for merchants or for, you know, or for vendors. But there’s always something that the attendees can, you know, can gain out of those various sessions, whether it’s, you know, kind of tips and tricks and insights about PCI DSS version 401, you know, deep dives into,
you know, different technical aspects, future of the payments industry, cybersecurity trends that are, you know, that are coming. Verizon’s going to be presenting their, you know, their payment and security report, you know, will be one of the sessions and, you know, certainly, you know, for the listeners that find themselves in Boston, then come on down to the TCT booth and check us out.
They can sit in on our tech demo or hang out with us after hours. We’ve got a lot of ways and options for, you know, for listeners to be able to get connected with us and have some fun with us while we’re there.
For sure. Tell the listeners more about our booth. Well, we’re going to be at, I don’t know, the booth number really makes a difference, but it will be booth 20. So we’re going to have several cool people will be there. Yeah, Todd, Todd, the head of, you know, head of sales is going to be there. John Dotson, our head of product will be there and I’ll be there as well. Um, so, uh, we encourage the listener stop by, say hi, you know, grab some swag. Uh, you know, we will have, uh, all of us there. We’ll also have, um, you know, product videos, uh, you know, and whatnot, but you know, certainly we’ll be available to talk to, you know, talk to the attendees about, you know, how we can, uh, how we can help to make their compliance management suck less, um, you know, for, for existing, you know, uh, for existing clients, um, you know, we want them to, to come by, check out the latest enhancements that we’ve made to the TCT portal. You know, it’s, it’s really cool when we go to the PCI conference, just because it’s a relatively, I’ll call it a relatively tight knit community.
And it’s just great to be able to, you know, kind of reconnect, uh, reconnect with old friends, make a ton of new friends. Um, you know, it’s awesome being able to, to have those conversations with, you know, kind of our existing, existing clients, talk to them about what’s going on in their world and their business, um, you know, and, and have that opportunity to just kind of talk through how are they doing what they’re doing and, you know, recommendations and suggestions for ways that they could even, even make it better, you know, things along those lines. So we, we love, uh, being able to, to meet people, talk to them, uh, you know, and whatnot, it’s, uh, the TCT booth that’s been interesting.
You know, we’ve been, we’ve been at it. This’ll be our, I think this will be our fifth or sixth year, uh, you know, in a row of participating in the community meeting, and, uh, it’s just great to be able to, to, to have the conversations with people.
We find it, it goes a long way to, you know, kind of fostering, fostering relationships and, uh, and, and all that fun stuff. So it’s pretty cool. Absolutely.
Now, TCT was honored to be selected to present at the upcoming community meeting, right?
Yep. We’ve, uh, for the last several years, um, TCT has been very fortunate. that we’ve been accepted as a tech demo speaker both at the US and at the EU conferences this year. So we did the same thing last year.
The tech demos for those that haven’t participated, it’s just a 20 -minute session. It includes some Q &A, live technology demos, thought leadership on trending issues related to PCI. Our topic for the sake of this year will be about saving your sanity by not letting your compliance manage you and that’ll be headed up by you and by John Dotson, our head of product. The one cool part about those tech demos and especially with the way that we go about it and having you guys doing the presenting is that it tends to be a far more engaging and interactive session. You know for that tech demo you guys do a really good job with you know kind of connecting dots and you know Making it into an interesting listen, you know, etc.
So certainly if you’re at the Boston meeting Do me a favor and go to go take a look at the agenda and you know and, and go ahead and figure out You know figure out getting to our session. That would be that would be outstanding There’s a there’s only a handful of organizations that are selected by the council to present that tech demo and You know and so, you know, you can stop by see a live walkthrough of TCT portal You know features and functions for making things easier to manage, you know via PCI DSS 40 So it should be a it should be a really good a really good session It’s a good opportunity to interface with the various participants. They always it’s fun because you don’t know what who’s gonna ask what?
This true it always gets entertaining No doubt and that’s a that that topic that we’re covering Is one that we have teased in a previous podcast. That’s episode 139 for those of you playing at home So if that’s something you want to catch up on before seeing us in Boston, please do so and yes, you’re absolutely right Adam, it’s a The kind of live fire questions is some of my favorite parts about that demo because you know The TCT portal is designed to truly help people do what they do better And so we love the real life questions because even you know If nine times out of ten you get the answer that you’re looking for, but even if you don’t it helps TCT to actually improve what we’re doing to help our clients now We have a special event in Boston for the listeners.
Tell, tell us more about that. So we’re gonna have a after -hours meet -and -greet We’re co -hosting Both with online business systems and with human security a reception at Back Bay Social So it’s a It’s an American Bistro. It’s a two -minute walk from the convention center. We’re going to take over their, their downstairs private dining room for the evening. So come on down on, you know, number one. Come by the booth so you can, we’ve got, you know, different cards and stuff. You can get signed up for the event and get all the details. You know, but and then come join us on Wednesday. We’ll be open from, from 7 to 10 p .m. have appetizers, drinks and it’s always it’s always a really cool experience because we have such a broad spectrum of folks that that go to that. It’s, it’s existing clients. It’s people that are interested in just talking to, you know, talking to TCT. And what becomes fun with that is because it’s a mix of both, you know, we, you know, we can tell people, you know, all day long, you know, how just how cool we are.
It rings. It rings a lot more true. When it’s coming from somebody that, you know, somebody that has first -hand experience has actually had the capability to experience the capability and quality of our support. You know, how reactive we are to their needs, things along those lines. It’s so much better when you can, you know, just kind of connect up, you know, somebody that’s thinking about it and somebody that’s had the experience.
So, you know, the part about the PCI community meetings is literally the community. You know, because it’s such a tight -knit group of people and you’re kind of seeing the same people year over year, the annual conference is it’s an opportunity to go reconnect with people.
You know, maybe I talk with them back in 2019, you know, in Toronto type of thing. Not in Toronto, in Vancouver was 2019. You know, so maybe I talk with them last back then, you know, and now they’re coming back around, you know, and wanting to talk some more. So it’s just awesome being able to go through, you know, get reconnected with people. And, you know, the part that I like the most is making some new friends in the mix as well.
Absolutely. Now, we also have some updates for the conference related to PCI version 4 .0 .1 reporting templates, right? Yeah, we actually just last week, they publicly released the reporting templates for V401. So TCT immediately set about kind of diving through our butts to get those processed through, etc. My expectation is that we will have those templates, you know, up running live on the portal before we start heading to Boston this week. So that should be very, very cool. You know, we, you know, we’ve gone through. basically just getting them all configured, doing all of our testing, validation, making sure everything’s working, etc. So that we’ve got those, you know, got those good to go for the, for the sake of the, you know, kind of the community meeting.
Indeed. Parting shots and thoughts for the folks this week Adam? Well, number one, we really, really appreciate the listeners coming in, joining us, do us the ongoing favor of, you know, telling your friends about the fact that we exist. You know, we love helping people in the, in the security and compliance space. You know, we always look really forward to going to the annual community meetings, being there, having the booth, talking with folks, whether they’re existing clients or just, you know, in many cases, it’s interesting because, you know, it’s folks out there that are looking for. better way and just they haven’t come across TCT before so you know it makes for a really a really fun discussion as well
This year well we’re going to be we’re going to be heading over to the Europe PCI conference so the North American PCI conferences is always in you know usually in both the second week of September as it will be this year and the, the Europe conference will be in October so if you’re listening to this and you’re over in Europe and you’re planning on going to the EU the EU PCI conference then we’ll be there as well so it’s going to be in Barcelona Spain this year so that’ll be served that will be that will be a cool adventure but you know we’ll have a booth there we will be doing the tech demos you know etc. you know and whatnot so we’ll look forward to seeing listeners out there as well but you know just keep coming back to the come back to the blog you’ll find all sorts of awesome you know awesome content on the on our blogs or on compliance unfiltered you know we’ve got just got a lot of content we put a lot of work and effort into trying to help people in the compliance space do what they do better and most certainly living up to our credo of making compliance management suck less.
that’s right and if you’ve made it this far into the podcast we would ask you to go like rate review the podcast it really helps us in a lot of different ways tell your friends as always been and most importantly just keep listening thanks so much
